5 Cocktails to Get You to the Weekend

Trapped at home with the kids now that camp has ended? Or are you trapped in the office with a boss rejuvenated from two weeks on LBI and eager for you to start a dozen new projects s/he thought of while s/he was away? (And will decide to scrap after you've already logged 100 hours trying to complete them.)

One thing’s for sure; these dog days of August are a real test of your nerves.

Cheer up! Here are the perfect cocktails that will take the edge off your work week and help get you to the weekend.

1. Wrong Island Iced Tea

For those days where everything you do is wrong. Or so you’re told. Best imbibed after you’ve sent everyone to their rooms. Including your boss.

Vodka, tequila, rum, gin, pineapple juice and a splash of passion fruit.

2. Tropical *itch 

Designed to tame even the grouchiest cougar.

Advice to women: To alleviate symptoms of PMS or peri-menopause add a generous scoop of Haagen Dazs. Or the whole quart. Own it Girlfriend! 

Advice to men: To alleviate symptoms of PMS or peri-menopause add more alcohol and remove yourself to another room. Trust me Boyfriend!

Vodka, dark rum, passion fruit, and pineapple juice. (Ice cream optional.)

3. Punch in the Stomach

Also known as Cubicle Cure. This is a punch you can throw (back) without being slapped with a restraining order or escorted out by security. 

Hawaiian Punch, Rum, and Pineapple Juice.

4.  The Cleaning Lady

Drink enough of these and you’re going to need one. 

Light rum, gin, vodka, tequila, triple sec, sour mix, and cranberry juice.

5.  The Swinging Pinata 

Guess who gets whacked this time? At least it will feel that way the next day if you knock a few of these back. And by the way, that’s not candy shooting out, but you will need a bag to pick it up.
