Atrium in Allendale Offers Short-Term Stays for Seniors

The Short-Term Stay Program at  The Atrium at The Allendale Community for Mature Living offers aging parents, grandparents and spouses a safe place to stay when the need arises. This could be because of a weather-related emergency or because a caregiver must be away.

“Our Short-Term Stay Program has been in place for several years,” said Mary Stampleman, director of Therapeutic Recreation and Community Relations at The Atrium. “It offers full-time caregivers and family members the opportunity to take vacation time or travel on business without worrying about the seniors they care for. The program also has apartments available for times when winter weather emergencies make it difficult or impossible for those seniors to stay in their homes safely.”

A short-term stay at The Atrium provides safe harbor among peers, with a host of services that residents enjoy year-round.

The Atrium’s Short-Term Stay program offers customized weekly or monthly lease options depending on the guest’s needs and circumstances. Guests benefit from a safe, supportive environment that incorporates a full complement of recreational activities, including social, educational and cultural programs offered daily; fine restaurant-style dining; and flexible health-care and wellness options if needed.

Services include assistance with daily tasks such as dressing and bathing, medication management and wellness assessments. Therapeutic treatments, such as occupational, physical and speech therapy, can also be administered by professionals associated with The Allendale Community's onsite Rehabilitation Center.

Each rental apartment features a spacious living area and closet space and a private bathroom. Apartments are equipped with 24-hour emergency response systems and are in close proximity to a health station, staffed by certified nurse assistants with registered nurse supervision.
