
Dr. Walt Karniski, a pediatrician specializing in child development and child advocacy, recently delivered a presentation titled "ADHD Rarely Dances Alone" at Barnstable Academy in Oakland.
The talk offered insights into ADHD and other factors such as school anxiety, executive function difficulties and the impact of the medication on children.
Karniski, a board-certified developmental pediatrician, has more than 30 years of experience in pediatrics, child development and child advocacy and has published numerous articles and papers in the field.
Karniski was the director of child development at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., and the director of the Division of Child Development at the University of South Florida's College of Medicine. In 1997, he established the Florida's Children's Center, a multi -disciplinary program for the evaluation and treatment of children with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder. He was the founding director of several schools for students with atypical learning styles.
