Y Arts Casting Roles in 'Sound of Music'

The Y Arts Theatre Company at the Wyckoff Family YMCA is casting its spring production of "The Sound of Music."

The production will be directed by Reegan McKenzie. Georgianna Pappas is the musical director, and Tiffany Rolsing is the choreographer. 

All roles are sought: males and females, all ages (children ages 6 and older and adults) all ethnicities. Actors, singers and dancers are welcome. 

Open call auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 22 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Y. Hopefuls should prepare a short song, and songs from "The Sound of Music" are acceptable. A piano accompanist will be provided, so sheet music should be brought. Also be prepared to learn a short dance combination. Bring pictures and resumes, stapled together.

Callbacks will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 30. Rehearsals begin the first week of February, and performances run May 12 to 15 at the Y's Carl Pfeifer Performing Arts Center, 691 Wyckoff Ave.
