Arbor Day Donations Mark New Wyckoff Community Park
Nelson Lee of Landscape Works has been donating trees to be planted on Arbor Day for the past six years. This year, his trees will help celebrate the birth of Russell Farms as a community park
In 2010, Wyckoff took on a new nickname: Tree City USA. This distinction was bestowed upon the township because of its commitment to preserving and consideration of the area’s greenery.
The Wyckoff Shade Tree Commission, which oversees the township right of ways, will celebrate its third year as Tree City USA. This year the township plans to celebrate Arbor Day and the beginning of Russell Farms by planting trees in the park at 9 a.m. on April 27.
“We can kick off Arbor Day at Russell Farms Community Park,” said Committeeman Kevin Rooney. “Arbor Day is about planting trees and celebrating their renewal or birth and we can also celebrate the birth of Russell Farms as a community park.”

“After running a successful business in the area for 25 years I just feel that it is appropriate to give back,” said Lee. “I try to encourage my employees to get involved with charitable works by donating time or services. It’s important for people to give back."

Three Serbian Spruces and three October Glories were donated by Landscape Works and will be planted in Russell Farms on Arbor Day.
“We’re lucky to have someone who wants to donate every year to our Township,” said Rooney. “This is his seventh year donating to our town at zero cost. It’s a wonderful thing that we have people like that.”
