Artist Anne Carney's work will be on display at the from Jan. 4 to Feb. 3.
Carney's "Shadow" series features silver gelatin prints made from black & white film and hand-processed in a darkroom.
There is a stark beauty and simplicity of design in black & white photography, which Carney is drawn to. Much of her artwork is inspired by film noir, and this is especially apparent in her "Shadow" series. Carney finds shadows interesting because they make the observer think about what the unseen element that casts the shadow is. They leave the story and the interpretation to the viewer.
