BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man was charged with aggravated arson after he poured gasoline around his estranged wife's vehicle while she was still inside it, Hackensack police said.

Wildemar Dangeil, 37, of Jersey City was also charged with making terroristic threats, violation of a restraining order, and eluding, said Capt. Peter Busciglio.

At about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a woman's estranged husband, later identified as Dangcil, poured gasoline around his wife's vehicle while she was inside it in her driveway, Busciglio said.

The woman was able to get out the vehicle and into her home. Dangcil later poured gasoline around parts of the house, but never ignited it, Busciglio said.

Dangcil fled in his vehicle, abandoning it in Little Ferry. Dangcil then contacted Detective Kley Peralta and later turned himself in to him, Busciglio said.
