Township Green Team Hosted Community-Focused Events
Wyckoff residents came out this weekend to clean up their town and shred documents.
Wyckoff residents gathered Saturday morning for a Team Up to Tidy Up event and the annual paper and document shredding event.
Team Up to Tidy Up began with a group of Wyckoff residents meeting up at town hall before heading out into the community for some spring-cleaning.
“First of all we had a great day for it,” said Wyckoff Mayor Rudy Boonstra. “We had a tremendous turnout over at town hall. It’s just one of the facets that makes Wyckoff a great town. Team Up to Tidy Up also brings the young people out and gets them involved with the spirit of volunteerism at a young age, which is what we like to see.”

The annual Shred Fest kicked off at 9 a.m. at the Recycling Center and organizers saw a consistent flow of traffic until noon. The Wyckoff Green Team volunteered throughout the morning.
“[By] our count we think we had just over 90 cars an hour which is fantastic,” said Harriet Shugarman of the Wyckoff Environmental Commission. “It’s been very steady and we had a line when we arrived at 8:30 and we opened at 9. It’s been great. A lot of people have come through.”
