Wyckoff Library Launches its Own Website

The Wyckoff Public Library now has a new home on the web.

The library recently launched its own website at http://wyckofflibrary.org, which library staff say will offer patrons greater resources and information on library events, programs and the forthcoming construction project.

The new site offers access to two online encyclopedias, World Book and Brittanica, as well as searchable databases through the Bergen County Cooperative Library System. Residents can apply for a library card online, and audio books and e-books are available for download to those who have a valid library card. The site also features links to various state resources for job seekers, those who need housing assistance, health insurance, senior resources and more.

The new library site also includes features such as "Ask a Librarian," with a contact form to e-mail reference questions; suggestions on what to read and staff book picks; and information on library hours, the Wyckoff Library Board of Trustees, staff and policies.

Residents also can expect updated information on events and programming for teens and kids, and staff say updates on the library expansion will be featured once construction commences.

The Board of Trustees have been working to launch the library's own site for much of the past year. Until the recent launch, library information was (and is) hosted on the township's website, http://wyckoff-nj.com. However, the operation of the township site is controlled by Town Hall staff, and library staff and trustees were looking for their own web portal that they could control to post up-to-date information. In-house staff have been trained on how to run the website, which was designed by Lakefront Media of Ramsey.

The library staff welcomes the public's questions and suggestions on the site, which they note is a "work in progress."
