2 Children Killed In Crash On New York State Thruway
Police say the children were in the back of a minivan that was rear-ended by a pickup truck Thursday morning.

WATERLOO, NY – Two children were killed and two adults were seriously injured in a chain-reaction crash on the New York State Thruway Thursday morning, state police said.
Investigators believe that traffic was slowing for a lane closure near the Junius Ponds Rest Area in Waterloo when a pickup truck failed to slow down and struck a minivan from behind at about 10:30 a.m. The minivan then struck a small passenger vehicle, which struck a tractor-trailer, police said.
Two children, ages 9 and 11, in the backseat of the minivan were killed. They were wearing seat belts.
