83-Year-Old Woman Accused Of Robbing New York Bank: Report
The woman was charged with first-degree robbery.
WAVERLY, NY — An 83-year-old woman is facing charges after police say she robbed a New York bank this week, according to a report.
Edna Jane Hallett of Waverly was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery after police say she robbed Chemung Canal Trust Company at 405 Chemung St. just before 10:40 a.m. Friday, WENY reported.
When police arrived, Hallett was gone, according to WENY. They later found her walking a short distance from the bank on Pennsylvania Avenue, police said.

Hallett was booked into Tioga County Jail on Friday, WENY reported. The investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
