• Buffalo Mail Carriers Robbed At Gunpoint In Alarming Trend (wyrk.com) — A mail carrier was robbed of his master “arrow key” on Morton Drive in Amherst on November 10, part of a disturbing string of five postal robberies across Western New York. Thieves are targeting these keys to access collection boxes and apartment mailrooms, prompting USPS to urge residents to avoid mailing cash and to use secure drop-offs, especially for checks and holiday gifts.
   

• 20-Year-Old Bronx Man Arrested in Shooting of NY Jets Star Kris Boyd (complex.com) — A 20-year-old Bronx man was arrested near UB’s North Campus in Amherst after a multiday manhunt tied to the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd. Federal marshals and local officers took him into custody without incident before he was returned to Manhattan to face serious felony charges.
   

• Clergy group releases first public report on Erie County jail conditions (wkbw.com) — An Amherst rabbi joined other Erie County faith leaders in a two-year effort examining conditions at the county’s jails, praising progress but urging improvements in food, medical care, racial justice, women’s treatment, and religious access. Their report, based on more than 100 interviews, calls for practical, achievable changes, while Sheriff John Garcia says his office will review the recommendations amid facility and budget limits.
