Man, 63, Injured When Struck By Car In Sunnyside Gardens: NYPD
The victim is in critical condition with head trauma, according to police.
ASTORIA, NY — A 63-year-old man is in critical condition after he was injured in a hit-and-run crash Friday night in Sunnyside Gardens, according to police.
According to the NYPD's Highway District Collision Investigation Squad, the man was attempting to cross Broadway a few blocks from the Brooklyn Queens Expressway when he was struck by a light-colored vehicle on 64th Street.
Police responded to a 911 call shortly before 9 p.m. and found the victim unconscious lying in the road. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens for treatment of head trauma, according to authorities.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain on the scene. The car was last seen going east on Broadway, police said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
