Astoria Man Arrested In 2020 Woodside Houses Shooting: NYPD

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A man from Astoria was arrested after a shooting that left two people injured in 2020 in Woodside Houses, police said.

Jaheen Stephenson, 21, was arrested on Wednesday after he and two other men fired several rounds and shot a man and a bystander on June 15, 2020, about 7 p.m. on Broadway, near 51 Street, the NYPD said.

Stephenson is charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, criminal use of a firearm, and other charges, authorities said.

The 31-year-old man and the 44-year-old woman who were shot in the back were taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing, the NYPD said.
