ASTORIA, QUEENS — It’s imperative for any talk on Thai food to have Astoria in the mix.

Thonglor Thai, formerly named Red Basil Thai, was ranked among Eater’s "25 Thrilling Thai Restaurants in New York City” list.

The restaurant, located on 32-47 Steinway Street, was ranked alongside several Queens restaurants, with many of them stationed in Woodside.

Thong Lor is a hip neighborhood in Bangkok known for its art galleries and hot dog stands.

The restaurant aims to live up to the neighborhood’s name by offering more deluxe dishes than when it had its previous name, serving crispy duck and red snapper.

“A somewhat upscale place where your money is well spent on premium ingredients, with the setting nothing special for a Thai restaurant,” the entry states.

Thai Nara Halal, Sripraphai, and Tea Cup Cafe, all from Queens, were also ranked among the most "thrilling."
