Beloved Astoria Record Shop Shutters After Eight Years

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A beloved record store in Astoria closed its doors at the end of January after eight years in business.

HiFi Records & Cafe, which was located on 23-19 Steinway Street, closed on Jan. 28 after opening up shop in 2015. The record store held a sale event just before closing, offering discounted speakers and records.

“We are eternally grateful for all the laughs and good times we shared with you and to everyone we've met here on our journey,” read an Instagram post by the store.

But HiFi fans can expect another round of record diving soon. Another Instagram post announced the record store will be hosting pop-ups and other events during February.
