Burglar Steals TV, Hat And Briefcase From Astoria Apartment: NYPD

The thief stole the random assortment of goods from an apartment near 37th Street and 31st Avenue, police say.

ASTORIA, QUEENS -- Police are searching for a man who broke into an Astoria apartment and stole an odd assortment of goods.

The perp snatched a television, a briefcase and a hat from a 79-year-old man's apartment inside a complex near 31 Avenue and 37 Street on May, cops said.

The man snuck into the apartment at around 7:45 p.m. after forcing open its front door, authorities said.

The NYPD released a surveillance photo of the burglar, who police described as a man in a white long sleeved shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
