Coronavirus Testing Site Opens At Long Island City High School

The new site is part of the city's push to expand COVID-19 testing as more businesses reopen and New Yorkers head back to work.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A new coronavirus testing site has opened at Long Island City High School.

The testing site is only offering COVID-19 diagnostic tests, not antibody tests, according to the mayor's office. All tests are free.

The emergency relief nonprofit CORE is running the testing site, which is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"As we venture outdoors to dine and enjoy the sunshine, we can't forget that widespread testing is still the key to reopening our city safely," Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

City officials are encouraging all New Yorkers to get tested for the coronavirus as more businesses start to reopen.
