Exit From BQE To Queens Boulevard To Close For Two Weeks
Drivers who want to get to northwest Queens from the BQE should take note of the Exit 39 closure through Oct. 11.

SUNNYSIDE, QUEENS — Getting from Brooklyn to northwest Queens on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway is going to be a bit more complicated during the next couple of weeks, the New York State Department of Transportation is warning drivers.
The exit ramp from the eastbound BQE to Queens Boulevard/65th Place — which is commonly used to access Sunnyside and the rest of northwest Queens — will close every morning except for Tuesday's from midnight to 5:00 a.m. starting Sept. 29th through Oct. 11th, weather permitting, the transportation agency said in a news release.
The ramp should reopen as usual at 5:00 a.m. on Oct. 11th, the NYSDOT said.

In order to get to Sunnyside or Queens Boulevard, drivers on the BQE can instead take Exit 40 towards Broadway/Roosevelt Avenue and follow signed detours.
The closure is part of the NYSDOT's pavement preservation project across New York City, which aims to repair crumbling roadways. The project also prompted the closure of the last Queens exit before the RFK Bridge toll earlier this month.
