ASTORIA, QUEENS — A Greek supermarket that's been serving the Astoria community for nearly 40 years shuttered over the weekend after the building landlord ordered them to move.

Titan Foods, located at 25-56 31st St., opened for the last time on Sunday, June 18th, and the owners have until the end of the month to pack their products to a new location.

"We're being forced out because they're going to demolish the building," Ana Mastoras, the owners' daughter, told Patch. "The building was bought by someone else. We tried asking for an extension to avoid this fiasco, but they were willing to give it to us."

The supermarket included a bakery, an olive bar, Greek cheeses, and prepared meals. The owners will continue to operate from the location in Deer Park.

Mastoras, whose parents moved to New York City from Greece in the 1970s, said that they will relocate to a venue nearby. The new location will be revealed next week, she said.
