A 24-year-old man is fighting for his life after getting knocked out in Astoria earlier this month, according to police and news reports.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A 24-year-old man is fighting for his life after getting knocked to the pavement during a dispute in Astoria earlier this month, according to police and news reports.
The man was arguing with two others just before midnight on June 19 near the corner of 30th Avenue and 38th Street when one of the men knocked him over with a punch, according to a police spokesperson and a New York Daily News report.
The man hit the ground and lost consciousness, and his adversaries fled, police said.

First responders rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital, where he remains in a coma, the Daily News and Queens Post reported.
The victim is a resident of Freeport, Long Island, according to the Daily News.
