Man Punches Rider Unprovoked On Queens-Bound 7 Train: NYPD

The man punched a 29-year-old rider in the face out of the blue before fleeing the train at a stop in Sunnyside, police said.

SUNNYSIDE, QUEENS -- One subway passenger ended his ride into Queens with a swollen lip after a fellow rider punched him for no reason aboard the train, authorities said.

Police are searching for the man who walked up to the 29-year-old passenger on a Flushing-bound "7" train and punched him in the face on May 8 at around 11:45 p.m. Cops said the attack was unprovoked.

The perp then hopped off the train as it pulled into the 46 Street-Bliss Street station in Sunnyside, police said.

The man on the receiving end of his fist was sent to Elmhurst General Hospital for cuts and swelling to his lip, authorities said. During the assault, he managed to take a photo of his attacker, who cops describe as a man standing at around 6-foot-1.
