ASTORIA, QUEENS — Krispy Kreme is opening its first Queens outpost on Tuesday, Oct. 26 on the corner of Ditmars and 31st Street in Astoria.

The shop located at 22-02 31st Street, which will open its doors at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, will be open Sunday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to midnight.

When news of the location broke this summer, however, many Astorians weren't sweet on the chain, instead taking to social media to express worries about the area's small businesses, Patch reported.

By contrast, Krispy Kreme's higher ups said in a news statement that they are excited to open a location in the World's Borough.

"We are thrilled to be in Queens, sweetening the lives of those in the borough and all who visit this wonderful community," said Krispy Kreme's chief operating officer for the US and Canada, Maria Rivera.

And, the chain is offering some grand opening week deal sweeteners, like a Golden Ticket for 30 randomly selected shop-goers, which guarantees a dozen free glazed donuts every month for a year.

Since grand opening week coincides with Halloween the new Astoria shop will be serving up "Krispy Skreme's" four Halloween-themed donuts, and on Oct. 30 shoppers can buy a "Scary Sharies" spell book dozen box for $1 with the purchase of any dozen.

To make matters even sweeter, on Halloween itself, every guest who visits the shop in costume will receive any single donut for free.

Krispy Kreme's foray into Queens is part of a recent citywide expansion in recent years.

For a while, the only Manhattan shop was in Penn Station, but there are now nine locations in the borough, most recently including a shop in East Harlem that opened this month. There's one shop in the Bronx, too.

The Krispy Kreme in Astoria marks the shop's 11th NYC location.
