New Restaurant R40 Brings Argentinian 'Parrilla' To LIC
After three years of construction, Argentinian restaurant R40 is officially opening its doors in Long Island City to the public on Feb. 11.
LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A new restaurant is bringing traditional Argentinian-style grilled meats to Long Island City.
Named after the roadway that runs through the length of Argentina, R40 will offer a rotating menu of shareable plates, a backyard space, an underground wine cellar with more than 70 varieties and cocktails crafted by Westlight beverage consultant Sami Hamarneh.
The Vernon Boulevard restaurant will feature a custom-designed parrilla where executive chef Giovanni Porto will grill a deluxe Argentinian meal for two, comprising of skirt steak, short rib, sweetbreads, chorizo, blood sausage and chicken thigh.

The restaurant starts taking reservations on Feb. 11, though it's been in a soft-opening phase since the end of January, according to spokesperson Jo Bailon.
