A New Starbucks Branch Is Coming To Astoria In July
The opening comes a year after employees at the Starbucks on 31st Street and Ditmars Boulevard voted to unionize and join Workers United.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A new Starbucks branch is opening in Astoria in July, according to the coffee giant.
The new Starbucks will be located at 21-03 Broadway and is set to open sometime in July.
The location will employ about 25 employees and include the standard menu offerings.

The opening comes a year after employees at the Starbucks on 31st Street and Ditmars Boulevard voted to unionize and join Workers United— an affiliate of the Service Employees International Union.
One of the baristas at the 31st Street location was illegally fired following the store’s union election, according to the city’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, and received over $21,000 in back pay and penalties.
