Old Man Gropes Straphanger In LIC Subway Station, Police Say

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Police are searching for an elderly man they say groped another man in a Long Island City subway station this week.

Around 4:44 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 — amid evening commute traffic — a 49-year-old man got onto a northbound E train at the Court Square-23rd Street subway station.

While riding the train, an elderly man walked behind him and grabbed his rear end, police say.

The older man, who is in his 70s, was wearing an all-black outfit, black glasses and a black surgical mask at the time of the incident, according to the NYPD.

On Thursday, police released a photo of the man, who they said is about 5 feet tall and 200 pounds.
