Pair Behind 2 Knifepoint Thefts At Queens Subway Stations: NYPD

The couple robbed two men at knifepoint in four days at subway stations in Long Island City and Elmhurst, police said.

QUEENS, NY -- Police are searching for a pair of thieves behind two knifepoint robberies in one week at Queens subway stations.

The man and woman first struck at the Court Square "G" subway station, asking a 29-year-old man for a MetroCard Swipe before pulling a knife on him at around 9:30 p.m. on June 18, cops said.

They rifled through his pockets and took $140 before fleeing the station, authorities said.

Police said the two cornered another 30-year-old man at knifepoint in the stairway of the 77th Street and Broadway 7 subway station in Elmhurst at about 10:40 on June 22.

The thieves stole the man's wallet, making off with $2, credit cards and ID cards, cops said.

No injuries were reported in either stickup.

The couple was last seen on surveillance footage after the second heist, police said. The man wore a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants, and the woman carrying a large black bag in a white tank top and black leggings.
