Pharmacy To Open In Queens Plaza Apartment Complex

The building's owner claims the full-service pharmacy, set to open in March, will be the neighborhood's first.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS -- A Queens Plaza apartment complex is set to gain a new pharmacy next month, which its landlord claims will be the first to hit the Long Island City neighborhood.

Healthy Living Pharmacy will open inside the Luna Apartments at 42-15 Crescent Street in early March, World Wide Group, the building's owners, announced on Friday.

"Our original vision for the neighborhood is now a reality, and we're thrilled to offer Luna residents, as well as those living nearby, a comprehensive lifestyle package," said WWG Chief Operating Officer David Lowenfeld.

Healthy Living Pharmacy will open in a 2,021-square-foot space of the 124-unit luxury rental building, joining the dentist office, gym and barber shop that accompany its one- and two-bedroom apartments, Lowenfeld said.

The full-service pharmacy will also sell a selection of food, health and beauty products, said owner Ray Schwartz.

"With thousands of new housing units becoming available, and many more being built, the neighborhood has a need for a full-time pharmacy to service the residents who live, work and visit here every day," Schwartz said.
