Popular Ice Cream Shop Launches Summer Pop-Up In Long Island City
The Lower East Side "experimental ice cream shop" announced it was "coming home for the summer" in Queens.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS -- A popular "experimental ice cream shop" is retracing its roots all the way back to Long Island City this summer.
Ice & Vine began serving up its signature handcrafted ice cream and other frozen desserts in Queens from a pop-up shop at 27-20 Jackson Ave. this weekend. The Lower East Side ice cream shop, which typically serves its treats from 221 East Broadway - and an I SCREAM! Kiosk in Times Square - took to social media to announce its Long Island City "summer homecoming."
The pop-up rang in its grand opening on Saturday with $1 scoops for all from noon to 2 p.m. It is situated inside the converted studio apartment of local artist William Lamson, and will remain there through the end of the summer, QNS first reported.

Representatives from Ice & Vine did not immediately return Patch's request for comment.
Ice & Vine co-owner Ken Lo told QNS he and fellow owner Paul Kim opened the "pop-up" shop to gauge interest in Long Island City, and it may very well end up staying in the neighborhood longer if this summer is a success.

"We have such a loyal fan base," Lo told the news outlet. "It's been amazing."
Part of that fanfare likely stems from their history in the neighborhood. Before Lo and Kim opened Ice & Vine in the Lower East Side in 2015, they sold their frozen treats at Flea & Food markets in Astoria and Long Island City, among others. The company won a 2014 Vendy award for best dessert, according to their website.
The ice cream shop's menu boasts a mix of their signature flavors - such as Basic B, Milk Money and Opium Den - alongside a seasonal open bar of Frosés, Bee's Knees, Piña Coladas and more.
Lo told QNS Ice & Vine's Long Island City pop-up will have some of the flavors the ice cream shop offered when they first started selling in food markets. That includes: Happy Panda, a black rice sorbet; Tico Time, a pink guava with chili lime plantain chip; and Thai-Phoon, a Thai tea mango sorbet with sumac jiggery.
The Ice & Vine pop-up shop is open daily from noon to 9 p.m.
