Sage Fitness In Astoria To Shutter Amid Lease Dispute

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A gym in Astoria that offered virtual classes and personal training is closing its doors permanently later this month after nearly a decade in business amid a lease renewal dispute.
Sage Fitness, located at 23-17 31st St., will permanently close on Jan. 31, the gym announced on Facebook, with their last week of classes ending on Friday, Jan. 13.
“After over 6 months of deliberation, the owners have failed to reach an agreement with the landlord to extend a lease,” reads a Facebook post by Sage Fitness.

The gym plans to sell all its equipment and will make an announcement in the coming weeks about how to purchase the machines.
Sage Fitness did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Patch.
