Signal Problems Snarl 7, N, Q, R, W Service Ahead Of Rush Hour
Signal troubles at Queensboro Plaza caused delays to the 7, N, Q, R and W lines late Thursday afternoon in Queens, the MTA said.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS -- Signal problems snarled service on the 7, N, Q, R and W lines in Queens just ahead of Thursday's evening rush hours, the MTA said.
The MTA said a major signal failure was reported at Queensboro Plaza in Long Island City just after 3 p.m. on Thursday, causing major delays to 7, N, Q, R and W service in both directions.
The issue knocked out 7 train service between the Times Square-42nd Street and 61st Street-Woodside stations and later suspended N and W service between Queens and Manhattan, the MTA said.

Riders were advised use the E, F, M, and R trains to get between Queens and Manhattan or take the 7 train shuttle service between 32nd Street and 42nd Street stops.
The MTA announced 7,N, Q, R and W service was restored just after 4 p.m. but the lines were still seeing "extensive delays."

Crews will "remain on site to monitor the situation as we go into the rush hours," the MTA said.
Service Update: There is no 7 train service between 42 St & 61 Stin both directions. 34 St bound 7 trains will end at 61 St-Woodside. There is 7 train shuttle service between 34 St and 42 St. For service between Manhattan & Queens, customers can use the E, F, M, N, R & W.
