Six-Story Fitness Center To Open At LIC Residential Building

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A popular fitness club chain will open at a soon-to-be residential building in Long Island City by 2026.
Chelsea Piers Fitness signed a lease with a residential tower that will be built at 24-11 Jackson Ave., which is currently an empty lot. Demolition work was recently completed.
The 72,000-square-foot fitness club will include a workspace, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and sundeck, an indoor basketball court, an indoor track, and locker rooms.

The gym will also have group fitness studios including cycling and heated / non-heated yoga, extensive cardio, and weight training equipment, among other spaces.
The residential building will be a 55-story mixed-use tower with about 600 apartments and 80,000 square feet of commercial space.

Chelsea Piers Fitness has seven locations, including its flagship club at Pier 60 on the Hudson River.
