6 Firefighters Hurt In Massive Astoria 3-Alarm Fire: FDNY
One firefighter was seriously wounded battling the blaze on 31st Street, officials said.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A firefighter was seriously injured and five others wounded battling a massive fire in Astoria Wednesday morning, the FDNY said.
The fire broke out at 34-40 31st St., between 34th Ave. and 35th Ave., just after 10:15 a.m., officials said.
More than 130 firefighters continued to combat the flames in the one-story building as of 12:45 p.m., according to the FDNY said.

One firefighter was seriously injured, while five firefighters sustained minor injuries, officials said.
One civilian was also injured on the scene, the FDNY said. They were taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Mount Sinai Queens, officials said.

The FDNY said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
