Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Opens Shop In Astoria

The ice cream store will expand to a third borough of the city when it opens in Astoria on May 4.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Van Leeuwen, known for its artisan-style and vegan ice cream, is setting up shop in Queens this week.

The ice cream store will expand to a third borough of the city when it opens in Astoria on May 4.

Van Leeuwen will be located at 33-01 Ditmars Blvd., where staff will offer $1 scoops from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday and a free tote for the first 100 guests.

The brand also announced it will open two other locations this month, including one at The Rink at Rockefeller Center and another at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

“We are always excited to open new stores, but especially at home in NYC – the place where it all began 15 years ago,” said Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO.

Van Leeuwen's signature flavors include Honeycomb, Pistachio, Marionberry Cheesecake, and others.
