LI Pet Expo at Town's Family Fun Fest a Success
Man's best friends were as numerous as the people at the Family Fun Festival.
The sixth annual Pet Expo in the Park, held during the Family Fun Festival at Tanner Park last week, was reportedly a huge success, bringing over 3,000 pet owners out during the weekend event.
Held during what turned into a beautiful weekend, the pet friendly event was free for attendees. Owners and best friends alike came out to watch the demonstrations and programs that were held each day in the main ring.
“We had a fantastic turnout this year and were thrilled to see so many people attend with their children and their pets," said Long Island Pet Expo's Karen Garetano. "Many aspects of the Pet Expo in the Park are an educational and hands on experience for children to learn about many different animals, and meet all kinds of pets. We love that the Long Island Family Festival has invited us back year after year, and that the event has grown in popularity."
The event include a dancing routine from Diana Frohman and her Golden Retrievers, the high-flying Frisbee Dog Kelly Belle and a fashion show held by Corky's International Haute Couture Canine as well as a "Parade of Breeds" on Sunday.
The next planned expo will take place at the Suffolk County Community College Brentwood Campus on February 28 to March 2, 2014.
