"Officer Peter Figoski Way" Sign Unveiled by Daughters

Roadway renamed in honor of slain New York City Police officer.

The Town of Babylon honored fallen NYPD Officer Peter Figoski on Saturday with street renaming ceremony, giving the West Babylon dad a place in the memory of the community he lived in.

The ceremony, which took place on Midwood Road, was interrupted by rain, which County Executive Steve Bellone, a neighbor himself, noted might be Figoski's way of popping in on the ceremony from heaven.

The new signage on Midwood Road, which reads "In Memory of Officer Peter Figoski Way," was unveiled by his four daughters, who pulled the ribbon off of the new display under the street sign.

The sign can be viewed at the corner of Midwood Road and Norton Avenue.
