Sunglasses Found, Desperate Search Continues For Missing LI Boater
The boating community has come out in force to search tirelessly for a missing man.

BABYLON, NY — A community search party is set to look for a missing man who fell off his boat on Sunday.
James Jaronczyk, 28, of Massapequa, was alone on a 22-foot Progression speedboat at about 4:33 p.m. on the Great South Bay when he fell into the water, police said.
A family member told Patch that the group will gather at the parking lot at the Babylon Pool at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. While the boater has yet to be found, his sunglasses were recovered yesterday.

The action will be a "big push to search the waters" for Jaronczyk.
Horn said that all who have a boat, jet ski, kayak, scuba gear, or a drone, or are willing to walk the shorelines, are welcome to join the effort.

Collectively, the group will set up a grid and assign sectors for each crew to patrol or search.
"The greater the amount of volunteers in this effort will mean a better chance at locating James," they said.

Marine Bureau officers are also continuing their search and are utilizing four boats as well as sonar technology. Dive team officers have been deployed into the Great South Bay, Suffolk County Police said.
The Coast Guard began a search for Jaronczyk around Sunday afternoon, but stopped at about 8 p.m. on Monday, a representative confirmed with Patch.
