West Babylon Science Olympiad Scores 7 Medals In LI Invitational

WEST BABYLON, NY — Several West Babylon students are starting their new year with great success.

West Babylon Senior High School’s Science Olympiad teams took home seven medals at the annual Long Island Science Olympiad Invitational on Saturday.

The students joined 53 other teams from Long Island, New York City, Westchester County, upstate New York and New Jersey, representing many of "the best" in their respective regions, a release said.

The students and their medals include: Taylor Weber and Justina Stasiak came in seventh place in astronomy; Nhu Nguyen and Zuzanna Obrycki gained in seventh place in forensics; Joel Colas and Erin Fider took seventh place in It’s About Time; Ryan Marvin rannked sixth place in scrambler and 10th place in trajectory; Cenahi Smith took home ninth place in trajectory; and Lauren Kutchens and Cenahi Smith won seventh place in Write It Do It.
