11 Hit With Pepper Spray In A Bayside High School, FDNY Says

The incident at Benjamin N. Cardozo occurred an hour after a 77-year-old man was pepper sprayed in a major city subway hub, officials said.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Nearly a dozen people were hit with pepper spray in a Bayside high school Friday, according to the FDNY.

Eleven people were hit at the Benjamin N. Cardozo High School at 58th Avenue and 223rd Street about 11:55 a.m., according to the FDNY.

Medics treated the 11 people at the school, suggesting injuries were not serious.

The incident occurred shortly after a 77-year-old man was pepper sprayed in Manhattan's Union Square station.

It also comes days after Queens parents told Mayor Eric Adams they gave their kids pepper spray to keep them safe on the way to school.
