NEW YORK CITY — A Customs and Border Protection officer fired his gun during an apparent road rage incident near JFK airport early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened near the entrance of the airport following a two-vehicle crash.

Port Authority police responded to the scene around 4:50 a.m. and found the customs officer, who told them he had been attacked by another driver and that he had fired his weapon during the incident.

The gun was fired several times, according to NBC New York.

The other driver was not at the scene when Port Authority police
