111th Night Out, Rummage Sale Highlight Week in Northeast Queens

Tuesday
The 111th Precinct will hold its annual Night Out Against Crime in front of Modell’s at the Douglaston Shopping Plaza, located at 242-02 61st Ave., from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event will include free food, games, a bouncy house, VIN etching and crime prevention information.

Friday
The Douglaston Little Neck Library will offer its Intergenerational Chess Club class from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Adults, teenagers and children will be able to learn basic chess skills or improve their game.

Sunday
The Oakland Little Neck Jewish Center, located at 49-10 Little Neck Parkway, will hold a rummage sale that begins at 10 a.m. Donations can be dropped off throughout the week at the synagogue. For more information, call 516-466-0490.
The Bayside United Methodist Church, located at 38-20 Bell Blvd., will bless local residents’ pets at 11 a.m. All animals to receive a blessing will be given a certificate that can be framed. Refreshments for both people and pets will be available.
