Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Meryl Kahan, MD: This office is less than 1 year old

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Meryl Kahan, MD: I created SheMD to address a gap in the healthcare system. With years of experience practicing as an ob-gyn, I noticed that many women felt overlooked and rushed, often having their specific concerns dismissed. I also recognized the growing demand among more and more women to look as good as they feel. This inspired me to create a practice centered on personalized care and genuine connections. By integrating medical aesthetics with traditional health and wellness services, SheMD provides a comprehensive approach that caters to both internal health and external beauty. This unique combination allows women to achieve their health and aesthetic goals in one place.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Meryl Kahan, MD: Health is wealth, so it is important to invest in your wellbeing. Also, make sure your doctor listens, addresses your concerns, and is genuinely interested in helping you. If not, seek out another doctor!

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Meryl Kahan, MD: Having patients tell me that I'm the first doctor who has truly listened to them (though I wish they didn't have to go through negative experiences before finding me).

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Meryl Kahan, MD: SheMD really is a one-stop shop for women's health and beauty. It is a convenient location where women can have both their wellness and beauty needs addressed by a double board-certified physician. I spend ample time with each patient so I can really get to know them and build a connection with them, so they feel comfortable with me but also so that I can dig deep to address the root cause of their health issues. I take this approach with all patients, whether in their 20s with no concerns or in their 50s and struggling with hormonal imbalance. I create personalized care plans and treatments for each individual.
