Have the Urge to Shred?

Across the boroughs, 89 parks will have chippers chomping this weekend.

The 15th annual MulchFest is taking place Saturday and Sunday to provide an opportunity to recycle Christmas trees and grab mulch for your gardens.

The gristly machines will recycle trees into woodchips for the lining of street tree pits and flowerbeds in city parks.

Last year, more than 160,000 trees were recycled this way.
