Spending time near their buddies, the NY Islanders last week, St. Mary’s kids cheered the team as they took on the NJ Devils at Nassau Coliseum.
St. Mary’s Hospital for Children serves kids with special needs who need rehabilitation or specialized care.
The kids were invited to a special lunch with Islanders mascot Sparky the Dragon, and the famous Ice Girls.

The day was courtesy of Chris Sabino, a man St. Mary’s just described as a “good Samaritan from the community who wanted to give back to some very special kids who touched his heart.”
Sabino donated 40 tickets for patients and staff.
