BAYSIDE, QUEENS — George Santos has found himself an unexpected enemy, and it’s another George.

Actor George Takei, best known for his role in Star Trek, started a petition to expel the embattled Republican — accused this week by a disabled veteran of taking $3,000 from a dying dog's fundraiser — from the House of Representatives.

“I know we need two-thirds of Congress to agree, and that's a tall order in a narrowly divided House,” reads the petition. “But if we don't demand it, we'll never get it.”

As of Thursday afternoon, the petition had received more than 20,000 signatures, which Takei asked Twitter users to push that number to 21,000 on Thursday.

Santos is facing public scrutiny and investigations into his finances after a bombshell report from The New York Times last month accused the lawmaker, who represents sectors of Queens and Long Island, of fabricating his professional and educational background.

Alexis L., who signed the petition Thursday, argued Santos should be removed because he couldn't be trusted.

"The rest of us average Americans would never be able to get a job or keep one if we lied on an application," wrote Alexis. "Congress should be viewed as much more important than every other average job. This is ridiculous."

Santos told NBC News last week that "if 142 people ask for me to resign, I will resign." He later clarified he meant more than 142,000 people, the same number of constituents who elected him in November’s midterm elections.

Takei has a long history of activism, especially for LGBTQ rights. He has served as the spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign “Coming Out Project,” and was Cultural Affairs Chairman of the Japanese American Citizens League.

"Take a stand against con artists and liars," Takei wrote. "Send George Santos back to New York."
