Bayside Rep. Honors Former YM-YWHA CEO's Dedication To People With Disabilities
Jeri Mendehlson spent 30 years developing programs and services for people with disabilities.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS - Bayside Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein recently recognized Jeri Mendelsohn, who retired as the executive vice president and CEO of Little Neck's Samuel Field YM-YWHA (Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association) in June, for her 30-year dedication to people with disabilities.
The ceremony took place July 25 at the annual Samuel Field YM-YWHA's Summertime Community Celebration and Autism Awareness event at the Bay Terrace Pool and Tennis Center.
Mendehlson has more than 30 years of experience in the development and implementation of programs and services for people with disabilities, with particular concentration on early intervention services, according to a release from the state assembly. She spent 12 years overseeing the YM-YWHA's social service programs before being appointed to CEO in 2013, including early childhood and parenting programs, services to individuals with disabilities, mental health and family violence services and graduation education.
But Mendelsohn's efforts surpass her retirement. She currently serves as co-chairperson of the UJA-Federation of New York's Task Force on People with Disabilities.
