Bayside Halal Spot Tops 'Hottest' Queens' Eateries List
A restaurant off of Bell Boulevard serving chicken platters and crepes alike is among the "hottest" spots in Queens, Eater says.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A halal restaurant that opened in Bayside a couple of months ago is already among the "hottest" eateries in Queens, critics say.
Off The Bone, a 100 percent halal restaurant serving everything from crepes to chicken burgers, was named among the 15 "hottest restaurants in Queens" by Eater editors this month.
The eatery opened at the end of last year on the corner of 42nd Avenue and 213th Street, but it's already among the list of restaurants making Bayside a "dining destination," Eater says.

Editors describe the menu as a "bit of a free-for-all" alluding to its wide array of offerings, including meat platters, bubble tea, and sweet crepes.
Off The Bone's "specialty," though, is its minced beef or chicken patty flavored with Pakistani spices, known as "chapli," editors says.

The chapli is the "foundation" of the restaurant's platter, which is served with Afghan rice and two sides, among which Eater recommends the mozzarella sticks.
This isn't the first time that Eater editors recognized a northeast Queens restaurant as one of the borough's best new spots: editors named a Hong Kong-style restaurant in the area as among Queens' hottest new restaurants last month.
Off The Bone is located at 213-02 42nd Avenue, and is open from noon to midnight seven days a week.
