Bayside, LI Citizens Band Together To Remove George Santos From Seat
The group Concerned Citizens of NY-03 held a press conference with Bronx Democrat Ritchie Torres calling on the FEC to investigate Santos.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A group of citizens from the district that Republican George Santos represents are organizing to remove the shunned lawmaker from his position in Congress.
On Tuesday, the group Concerned Citizens of NY-03 held a press conference with Bronx Democrat Ritchie Torres calling on the Federal Election Commission to start an investigation into Santos’s campaign finances.
“We deserve real representation, not a charlatan,” said Jody Kass, a member of the citizens’ group, on Tuesday. “Speaker McCarthy is insulting the 700,000 plus residents of this district by not pushing him out.”

In a letter sent to the chair of the FEC, Rep. Torres requests an investigation into the relationship between Rep. Santos’s campaign and RedStone Strategies, an unregistered fundraising entity whose apparent practices on behalf of the Santos campaign might have contributed to multiple violations of the Federal Election Campaigns Act.
“Given what we know through public reporting, it is outrageous to me that Mr. Santos was even allowed to be sworn in officially as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives,” said Torres.

Santos is accused of fabricating most of his biography, including his previous positions at renowned banks and where he attended college.
The Republican is also under investigation for possible illegal campaign financing and disclosing. Several elected officials and entities have asked for his resignation, including the Nassau County GOP.
