Bayside Man Pleads Guilty After Ghost Gun Bust In 2022: DA

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A man from Bayside pleaded guilty after authorities found seven ghost guns, several firearms, and thousands of rounds of ammunition at his residence in Bay Terrace, prosecutors said.

Andrew Chang, 35, was busted last year for having ghost guns, which are unserialized and untraceable firearms that can be bought online and assembled at home, at his home on 215th Place, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Tuesday.

He’s expected to be sentenced to three and a half years in prison when he returns to court on April 28, Katz said.

Police found seven completed ghost guns, three rifles, one shotgun, an unfinished low receiver, four magazines, about 2,000 rounds of ammunition, ghost gun parts, and about $65,000 in cash on March 2022, the district attorney said.

Chang was then arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, prosecutors said.
