Bayside Police Precinct Gets A New Commanding Officer
Bayside's local police station, the 111th Precinct, will have a new captain starting next week.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Bayside's local police station will have a new captain starting next week.
Deputy Inspector John Hall, who spent nearly two years as the 111th Precinct's commanding officer, will move to the NYPD's unit that oversees CompStat — the department's system for tracking crime data — and conducts citywide crime analysis, he announced on Twitter.
Succeeding him will be Captain John Portalatin, who has previously served with the 109th Precinct in Flushing, the 110th Precinct in Corona and the 104th Precinct in Ridgewood.

It was an honor & privilege serving the people of the @NYPD111Pct and leading the great officers there. I will be moving on to a new assignment next week.
